New NRG's alternative fuels Washington Project is progressing in Stage 1 of their business plan. Lurgi PSI has completed the pre-engineering. The facility is scheduled to produce 200,000 tons of biodiesel per year. Construction will begin upon finance close. (Financing has not been completed at this time)
The construction process is estimated to take 10 months to start up and 13 months to full operation. Lurgi, PSI is scheduled to act as the construction contractor as well as the engineer. Lurgi will warrantee the facility for 1 year for workmanship and equipment failure. Lurgi will also guarantee production capacity of 200,000 tons or 60 million gallons per year prior to handover. Lurgi will train all staff and management of the facility. (There is no current contract with Lurgi only letters of intent and a pre-engineering contract)
Start up will be handled by Lurgi. Once construction is completed, Lurgi staff will oversee the startup phase utilizing NWBF staff. Once the facility has reached the guarantee production level of 200,000 tons, official handover to NWBF and New NRG will commence. Lurgi will have a 1 year operations contract to fully train staff and to ensure that production process issues are resolved prior to NWBF staff assuming full time responsibility.
Stage 2 of the business plan is a facility scheduled to produce 50 million gallons of fuel ethanol annually. Stage 2s process will begin as soon as construction begins on Stage 1. This process will include pre-engineering, EPC and financing. Stage 2 is estimated to take 2 years from beginning of process to operations. Stage 3 of the business plan will expand ethanol production to 100 million gallons annually. This expansion is scheduled to commence following fulfillment of sales on all Stage 2 production. Stage 4 is scheduled to expand fuel ethanol to 200 million gallons per year. Stage 4 is scheduled to commence following fulfillment of all Stage 1 and Stage 3 production sales.
